What billing or insurance information will I receive?
Generally, after you have been seen in the office a flow sheet was generated and sent to the billing company with the fees that were incurred during your visit. Your insurance may notify you that a visit to Dr. Green was recorded and they may require you to respond to a few questions.
How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?
Not long. Most insurances repond within a 3-4 week period.
Why am I getting bills from physicians?
Sometimes, insurances companies don’t pay for some services rendered. They may not have received the claim or they lost the claim. In that case, the billing company takes responsibility in sending out bills to the patients. In the event your insurance didn’t pay for services, then a simple call to the office or the billing service will most likely rectify any problems.
I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill – but I can’t understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?
Many times, the amount charged is different than the amount allowed. Also, deductibles, the money that the patient has to pay up front, can show up as an unpaid amount. This will change how much is owed and can be very confusing. Before calling the billing company, many of these questions regarding the bill, can be answered by the office manager, Peggy D’Amico.
